As much money as the Mets spent, Atlanta will probably still win the NL East division.

Spencer Strider is already looking like a stud.
Acuna is an MVP candidate if he's healthy.
And Riley might be the best 3B in the National League.

I would just say that for Atlanta, I have some concerns about how many starts they are going to get out of Charlie Morton.
He's 40 years old or close to it. And there's probably a noticeable drop off in starting pitching if he goes down.

I don't know how much they will get out of Soroka or Wright.

I also think Eddie Rosario will probably be cut or traded. He's just not a very good player anymore.
Maybe they trade for a short rental if they're convinced they are a WS favorite -- Happ/Renfrow/Pederson could make sense.
A bit of a heavier investment might be Alex Verdugo or Austin Slater.

Division is stacked. Mets and Phillies will both be good again this year. Braves could finish first or third and still be good enough to win it again

With that said the Braves are stacked. You can’t find a better hitting lineup in the game :yeshrug:

Things I want to see in Spring Training:

-Vaughn Grissom emerge as the starting SS. We all know it’s his job but I want to see him when the job
-Who will be the fifth starter? It’s Fried, Strider, Wright, Morton set in stone 1-4. It’ll be between Ian, Bryce & Soroka, if you believe Soroka will be a ML starting pitcher again
-Ozuna round back into form. I kinda feel like this is his last shot. He’ll DH this season and Chipper is back as a hitting coach so hopefully he takes advantage

Kyle Wright is a little above league average. His win total doesn’t mean much.
He could win 20. He could win 12.

Braves fans put a little too much hype into Grissom and Harris. They’ll be ok.

:dwillhuh:

Harris just won NL Rookie of the Year and had one of the greatest rookie seasons in ML history

Harris compiled 5.3 Wins Above Replacement (Baseball-Reference.com) in 2022. Only 11 players aged 21 or younger produced a higher WAR during their debut season (400 plate appearances or more). Four of them are members of the Baseball Hall of Fame: Ted Williams, Frank Robinson, Joe Morgan and Stan Musial. Another player on the list, Albert Pujols, retired in October and likely be in the Hall one day.

And that’s just at the plate, he’s a Gold Glove level defender right now.

Wright had a breakout season last season and Vaughn showed promise when he got called up last season. No one’s putting too much hype in him, it’s a wait and see to see how he does as the everyday starting SS

No shade but do you really watch the Braves?
