To me, this was always the silver lining to Trump getting elected. If this doesn't wake these ignorant hillbillies up, nothing will. :yeshrug:

Is that what you're going to say to your wife and kids?

It's unfortunate. I actually think liberals/democrats are going to continue to get trounced in 2018 and 2020. In terms of our society and where we are at culturally in my personal estimation it will take a good 6-10 years before we see the major shift away from our current idiocy (on both sides at that). Insurance rates will continue to climb (these Trump voters don't know what it was like during two decades before ACA?), white people are becoming more and more addicted to drugs, and no republican will do a thing about corporate cronyism. The conservative talking point of "We just need more power" will lose its luster as they remain in majority power but problems continue to persist or get worse.

It's not necessarily an indictment of liberals (though there is serious problematic behavior in a lot of liberal groups). Sometimes there are more people in power you don't like because of geography and whichever left/right propaganda culture you're in. It's a numbers thing.

Expect young people to get "woke" in the years to come when they realize just how far evangelicals, conservatives, and Trump Republicans want to go. But it'll take years. And it won't necessarily be the kind of vision you or I might like, either.
Stop blaming democrats

When your opponent is that treacherous you always get dragged into their bullshyt.

That's the only good part, is all those fukking old racist fukks will die
I use to subscribe to this line of thinking but realized some time ago, whites just gonna do what whites do and it ain't nothing gonna change about that. Old racist fukks die, cool. They'll just be replaced by an even bolder version of racists so nothing will really change. White folks need to take a very long look in a mirror but they won't. Check my sig. That encapsulates their entire mindset. And that was quote was from a black man in South Africa in the 1960s.

These people have been voting against their own self interests for decades now.

Even if they don't care about poor people affording insurance, you would think coverage for pre-existing conditions would have universal support.

:mindblown:
