Again, this is what's called a protective order and is EXTREMELY common in federal RICO cases or drug trafficking whatever. it's a pro forma thing. Even in a case that has no celebs, or no minors, it's common. Drug cases, gang cases, drug importation cases.
it's not about protecting celebrities.
it's about protecting witnesses and sensitive parts of the discovery from the defendant. Like when guys get indicted, lets say a RICO gang case linked to a Mexican street gang in San Diego, and you read the paperwork, you can ID who the snitches are. Puff Daddy can read the paperowrk, and see who has been talking to the feds. This is prohibiting him from posting it online.
this is exactly what I was saying, about the way social media will follow a case like this. It's hysterical. and it's distracting.
