That summary sounds busy as fukk.

I don't need to know anything more about Jason Voorhees other than he was a deformed kid who presumably drowned at the camp his mom worked at and it made his mom go insane. I don't need to see his dad (Pam as a harried single working mom plays more into the guilt she felt over Jason's "death" that contributes to her going batshyt crazy), I definitely don't need a movie that doubles down on the idea that Jason is some mystical hellspawn.

Just go back to basics...Jason Voorhees as a sadistic serial killer who is all brolic from living out in the woods like a deranged lumberjack.

That's what they did in the 09 remake but i guess there wasn't enough enthusiasm for it even though I loved it
