I know you got excited, but calm down --- The title is just a reference to history and ancient mythology... not a attempt to prove the supernatural.

I think the main reason they speak about it in these terms is to acknowledge that ancient mythology and writings actually can/have lead to scientific discovery - because they have actually observed the things they speak to; they just didn't understand them.
