As with most issues, the truth lies somewhere in the middle. The earth does work in cycles of hot and cold. The earth has been warming since the previous ice age. From what scientists are able to prove the earth is now heating faster than it ever has in any of these cycles. This drastic change has been happening over the past 100 years or so. Common sense will tell you that humans and fossil fules have to be having SOME effect on the environment. Rush limbaugh wants you to beleve we have nothing to do with this change. Environmentalists want you to believe we can prevent global warming by driving a Prius and using new light bulbs. But really truth is We should probably be looking for ways to reduce emissions AND how to deal with global warming. The inevitable WILL happen. We may be able to slow it down but ultimatly we will have to deal with it. As the most advanced being the earth has seen we SHOULD be able to overcome this obstacle. Until now climate change has always decimated earth's species preventing any of them from advancing too far. We humans have a chance to change this cycle, but we can't do it if we are arguing over who did it.

You don't know what you're talking about. If you correct for solar variation, the Earth is still getting warmer and it's due to the 35% increase in atmospheric CO2 that has occurred in the last 150 years of burning fossil fuels and deforestation. The proof is in the C12/C13 isotope ratios. Global warming deniers (who are almost the equivalent of young Earth creationists atthis point) have to answer a simple question: If the sharp increase in global temperature over the past 150 years isn't due to increased atmospheric C02, then what is causing it? They never can.
