Mental illness is sad as hell, and can happen to anyone.
I've had to battle severe anxiety before and wouldn't wish it on anyone
I used to help out a local shelters around town. You'd be surprised how events (some we'd consider routine and some that were more traumatic) can damage a person's mental health and lead to a downward spiral.
I met tons of Black men who ended up on the streets because the got hit with a divorce, wife cheated on them, they lost a job, loved one died, etc.
People can always say how mentally strong they are. But, all it takes is that one event--whatever it may be--to turn your world upside down.
For real.
