group went as devante went for the most part. dude tried out for prince's band in minnesota, got rejected, came back home and started recording with jojo and k ci. added his bro. jodeci made three classic albums based largely around demos they already had recorded before they were even discovered. which gave him plenty of time to look for new talent (da bassment). found said talent and put them to work ala

nikka turned into nino brown.

during the second album, dude developed this bad boy image (drugs/tattoos) got robbed. became paranoid. the writing was on the wall, as the hailey bros started branching out. by the third album, the nikka stopped showing up for videos/appearances. devante signed to madonna and was busy, so k ci & jojo took what turned out to be an almost 20 year break from the group, going plat. on their own. rumors abound of a reunion but in the process everybody in the group essentially got flabby and the comeback album came and went. there are many stories (pics and vids) of these guys embarrassing themselves over the past 20 years but there's a jodeci appreciation thread for that.

K ci and jo jo are tied with Stevie on this one....Cant say one is better then the other but it took 2 to be tied with one....Jodeci was killing the remakes back in the day. Let me also add..the "live" version which came first is tied with Stevie not the studio version.

Opinions are subjective....But Spring 94....The K Ci version was popping when I was a sexually active teen.

I dont have any memories with the Bobby version. So with that said I will always put K Cis version over Bobbys.

Yep we are only talking about our opinions so its not serious to me.
That said I remember the summer when Jason's Lyric came out and this song was all over BET and the Box.

But I was listening to the Bobby version before that on record, my mom and dad worse out Bobby's records.

I was just thinking bout them when "U and I" came on this morning on pandora. Do they got unreleased stuff? Around 2000 i heard they was working on an album and video was out on some songs

swing got blackballed because he was taking loans from labels are not paying them back (money/hits)

uptown folded & MCA (the parent label) took over, MCA wasn't a fan of jodeci's image from the jump which is why Kci & Jo went with suits & cleaned up their image (publicly)
k & Jo sold more records as a duo than in the group so I guess they keep them as a duo

plus the industry was changing, b2m was washed & selling like they used to & the whole dance routine in videos was a thing now (usher, ginuwine, Dru Hill)
