Schaefer says the low buyrate, for Pacquiao-Rios, is a reflection of the many fans who complained about the lackluster undercard.
He talks about the production, how Top Rank's production is so great and better than HBO's production or anybody else. What is he talking about? Does he think people are going to watch the show because of the great lights? He should be better off on spending money on making the fights better. People wants to spend their money to watch good fights, not better lighting, Schaefer said.
I haven't met anyone who said 'oh, you have to watch the pay-per-view because Top Rank's lighting, it's f***ing unbelievable. He should let HBO do the production, they do a perfectly fine job. And then he can spend the money he can save on making better fights. That's what I would do.

This quote right here sums up my biggest problem with Arum...he is still trapped in that old school, Don King early days of PPV mindset where the main event will sell the fight and the undercard can be any old bullshyt. That is not how things work anymore and GBP realized it and have been putting on stacked cards that make Arum's cards look like regional fight nights. That is why Manny/Rios did so poorly on PPV...nobody knows who the fukk Brandon Rios is, Manny was coming off of a fight where he got KTFO, the pre-fight promotion was laughable and then Arum puts on an undercard of unknowns, newbies and nobodies.
All the lighting in the world won't make an undercard of green 8 round fighters look like anything more than an undercard of green 8 round fighters.
The day that out of touch old fukk retires will be one of the best days in boxing.

Yes Arum needs to call them, for the many reasons Richard stated. Just because Mayweather won't deal with them, that doesn't mean GB won't. They're just not going to bow down to Arum. Why should they? He's already setting dates for Manny to fight in April, that shows you that he feels he's in charge. What's the point of going to the media to call negotiations? Both Floydie and Golden Boy have made their terms clear .. Floyd refuses to share back end revenue with any opponent... Schafer ruined GB relationship with HBO(which nobody wants to talk about)...Floydie refuses refuses to deal with TR fighters or Bob Arum .... cool... meanwhile, Top Rank is loyal to HBO But can work with Showtime if they choose...all Top Rank fighters including many GB fighters built their careers off HBO... Meanwhile, Pac is loyal to Top Rank and Bob Arum...
