The soundtrack was I did enjoy Scarface. However in the MTV Cribs era where every rapper had it on their screen, I gave it a break. Still haven't watched the movie in bout 13 years

Most critics don't rate the movie that highly. Scarface was seen as a snoozefest just like every other movie of equal length at that time. The average runtime in the 80s had a significant drop in comparison with the with 60s and 70s. Most of that was mainly due to hardware limitations and cost. So now we reach a point where the average attention span is on a decline and you need to weight cost vs profit. You make a three hour film today and people will be losing their minds 2 hours in. A major complaint I see about every 2h 30min + film is that it was a snoozefest. lol
