Scarface gets a lot of unnecessary hate.. that's a top 30 film easy

Ehh I get the hate that it got, the first time I saw it I thought it was incredibly stupid and a dumbed down version of the original, full of cliches and just way too much going on it. Then I saw it couple of years later after revisiting De Palma's filmography and realised that everything I disliked about the movie before was completely intentional on his part and not just bad directing. You got to watch the movie as a 180 min audiovisual experience of coke, with the highs, the lows and the crazy; the whole gangster aspect of it its just a frame for the real themes of the movie, in my opinion.

It's legendary..it's a quote machine and its been massively influential. It's a legit top flick since it's inception..it tooks YEARS before everyone appreciated it though, unlike Goodfellas or even Casino.
