it's a bullshyt tweet and story they want to tell to feel important (fukk middle america, old flyover useless ass places that their kids leave as soon as they graduate). folks didn't call their cable companies and ask that ESPN be removed from their package because they would prefer conservative values in their sports coverage. GTFOH. they dropped cable PERIOD. espn is suffering because they've invested billions in TV contracts with sports leagues based on the idea that they were immune from cord cutting.

their issue, and Bill Simmons keeps talking about it, they did not account for streaming. They thought cable was here to stay forever.

Thats all it is. Same thing happened with print media, especially newspapers. They were making ridiculous profits and expected that format to work forever.
