ESPN already has a succession plan in place after Breen, according to its head of NBA production, Dave Roberts.
In August, Roberts anointed Ryan Ruocco, JJ Redikk and Richard Jefferson as the No. 2 team and indicated they would be in position to be promoted to the No. 1 spot at some point. Ruocco is already ESPN’s lead WNBA and women’s college basketball voice.
Roberts did not give a timetable for the change, but now Breen is locked in for four more years, including this one.
He isn’t a draw. He’s like a commentator you bring on for segments but him by himself is too dry.I guess Bomani lost that ESPN and HBO Bread in a wildly quick manner. Good to hear him back though doing the Right Time.
Breen *only* 62, the way play-by-play guys hang on forever and well past their prime he probably has another 15 years as the lead guy

They def have non competes so they can’t for a while.I wonder why some of the personalities like Jalen and Jacoby didn't create a podcast and YouTube channel and continue what they were doing. They still have a following.
