I don't get it. so they take YT'ers and put them on tv instead? I still don't get the strategy.
I think they want to convert fans of content creators into tv viewers. I don't think it's gonna work in the grand scheme things because people are used to on-demand viewing.

My nieces watch movies and tv shows on tik-tok now :francis:

yeah, my 13 year old daughter watches TT and YT exclusively. and the rare times she watches a movie, it's on D+ or Netflix.

My Pops Forever RIP
Dan feels espn has given up on sports radio

sports talk radio works, but in some places, local stations are too entrenched and now with podcasts dominating, I don't have to wait til 3pm to hear someone's thoughts about what happened the night before. Many others have beaten them to the punch. Also, ESPN nationally is VERY repetitive, to the point where a First Take pod is no different than whatever a sports talk radio head can give you.

ESPN hasn't been good since 2010. Just go to YouTube and see how different it was from then to now. The fact that the "worldwide leader in sports" is now the last place to go to when you want to hear about sports is a damn embarrassment.

This is why ESPN exclusively airing SEC Football games next year makes me sad :to:

Yeah, the problem is that ESPN's national shows really are just their TV shows, but on the radio, in regards to content. And if we're being real, if you listen to local sports radio in 2023, you don't necessarily care to hear about national stories. You want to hear about YOUR teams, or hear about the national stuff from more of a local viewpoint. Forcing listeners to have to even have an option for that until as late as 10AM in some markets is putting ESPN Radio affiliated channels at a pretty big disadvantage.

CBS Saturdays are done??

Yep, SEC went to ESPN, CBS is splitting the Big Ten rights with Fox and NBC.

Harlan, Jeff and Stan trio coming soon?

Probably not a sure thing with WB penny pinching as well though.

It's simple really. I can hire you, who has zero fanbase and try to create a show with a bug chance of flopping. Or I can hire a youtuber with a guaranteed 2 million people fanbase and make a profit instantly.
