If Disney buys WWE, I'm joining #nWg and sticking with AEW. Might get into NJPW as well.

Here's where they messed up. They got too lazy creatively....and they knew it. They knew these monthly ppvs were nothing more than a ppv in name. Ppl hear "ppv" and think it's a big event. Ppvs used to advance or end feuds, but these monthly ppvs were basically extended RAW.

They knew the $60 dollar model for that was dead. Hence the network model.

To be fair, if boxing, ufc etc had 2 ppvs EVERY month, it'd lose its luster too.

Again they should have everyone sign up for $100 for the year, or 9.99 monthly. As it stands, ppl who have been long time subscribers have never been rewarded or appreciated. The $100 tier would solidify wwes earnings in their quarterly meetings. But I think they know that alot of ppl don't even miss that 9.99/month and they just stay subscribe whether they watch the network or not. There's ppl who don't watch Netflix but still have their subscription....just in case

them cannibalizing their own PPV business was bad for the company financially and creatively. I will continue not paying them for anything :yeshrug:

The brand exclusive ppvs should have worked, and they were actually fine until they ran Jinder Mahal vs Randy Orton 3 months in a row, then ran Jinder vs Nakamura 3 months straight. If Raw & SD are separate and distinct, of course you can run a brand exclusive show monthly.

Wrestling hasn't been good since ECW/WCW were active. WWE "winning" the war was bad in hindsight. Not that I think WCW would've been better.

:comeon: The last year and a half of both ECW/WCW sucked, there was more high quality wrestling in 2002 on Smackdown, ROH, and TNA than there had been in 2 years prior of ECW/WCW and often WWE. Expand past that and yeah WWE has had a lot of awful shyt since 2001, but also have had NXT, ROH and TNA had great runs, the growth of PWG, AEW has had some fire shyt too.

To be honest I think wrestling in the US has suffered more from TNA and ROH going ice cold than WCW/ECW, which were already shells of themselves long before they actually closed down. Raw/SD are always going to be what they're going to be, it's not like the quality was excellent when ECW and WCW were peaking either. Unless you really like 58 second matches with 2 run ins and non finishes for 2 hours every week.

You can make fun of that PPV name all you want but the actual show itself was one of the best PPVs they've had in awhile. :manny:

Maybe but i looked back and results say main event samoa joe vs lesnar for the belt was 6 minutes
Who wants to pay 60 buckz for that

If they take away live PPV’s I’m cancelling off principle. And will just get every now and then when I want to binge watch some Raws and Archives, but I rarely get time to do that so may be only 1 or 2 months. Now I’ve had the network soon as it was available, willing to keep it with live PPV’s, if they cut them off I’m cancelling.
