Were people really expecting Manny to KO Rios? Brandon is a tough dude who has never been knocked out and is naturally bigger than Pac.
Too many people buying into that HBO announcers meme that because Manny hasn't knocked anyone out since Cotto that something is wrong with him. Instead of it being a combo of moving up in weight and fighting dudes not known for getting knocked out.
Look at the dudes he fought...they don't get knocked out on the regular: JMM never been KO'd, Clottey never been KO'd, Bradley never been KO'd, Mosley never been KO'd, Margarito only KO'd once.

Brandon been through numerous wars with dudes who probably hit harder than Pac...Dude has a granite chin and is tough as steel...

I ate good off that fight and I didn't even watch it...The only thing I was worried about was a stoppage but I was told in China that rarely happens so I bet big on the decision...
