The religion in and of itself is fine. Like any other religion, it's simply a philosophy circled around a concept of god within a cultural container. I have no issue with the religion per se.

But religion means nothing outside the context of people who espouse said religion i.e. it's followers. And in that vein, religion is a form of politics...like it or not. My issue with Islam is the same I have with Christendom - it has been used as a political trojan horse for the mistreatment, disenfranchisement and enslavement of people, namely African people, for the benefit of a foreign group.

Under the false religious guise of "good vs evil" or "saint vs heathen." When in reality, it was really about colonization for the purpose of extracting resources. Arabs have used Islam to embattle, embezzle and enslave no different than Europeans have used Christendom to do the same. So, I am just as critical of one as I am the other.

Islam has been the hand maiden of Arab imperialism, no different than Christendom has been the hand maiden of European imperialism. Both have used religion as a means of imposing their way of life on others while stealing, raping and killing said others.

So again, I have no issue with Islam. I have an issue with Arab imperialism i.e. Arabism. Unfortunately, for many, the two were never meant to be separated.
