But they made a point that he did get funnier after he left SNL, so I think the top 10 spots are for people that were the funniest they ever were on SNL and carried the show on their back. Some of the posters here are not reading the list in context of why they chose to list them this way. They are not saying Phil Hartman is funnier than will Ferrell; they are saying on SNL and in his respective role, Phil Hartman was more valuable to the show and hit his peak on SNL. That's why the list is actually very, very good for what it INTENDS to show.
