Ugh. Realized last night... caffeine past even 11 AM will fukk with my sleep. But Im hungry and sluggish without it. I'm gonna have some now (8AM) and see what happens. I'm gonna try a push session today around 1PM. Hope it goes well and I get through it quickly, lifting on my lunch break will make things so much easier time wise. Also def gonna cycle caffeine like I did before to keep the dependency at bay.

5x4 bench day. Hit 4x4x235 pretty easy, and then hit a set of 4 at 240. Gonna jump to 5x4x240 next week. Avoiding failure & moving up slowly seems to be working well.

At a new gym by work, and on that push/pull shyt. I am liking the push pull shyt. I just did bench, shoulder press, cable pushdowns and lateral raises and was out. Don't feel tired at all. Only thing I wasn't feeling is they have a weird shoulder press rack. I might switch back to standing shoulder press for that reason. Good core move. Gonna do a nice quick pull session tomorrow (DB heavy rows, lat supinated pulldowns, curls). Then 4x6 bench push Wednesday.

Did back today. Not a great session but mainly because I'm still getting used to the new spot. Also not feeling their pull down machine. My chit went down 20lbs here, not sure why. But then again the weight stack isn't labeled, so who knows. I didnt do heavy rows because I didn't have straps, but I think I will make Wed my heavy row day (since I do squats and deads Saturday). Then do light back stuff Sunday

Man I am ODing on coffee. Can't sleep and my sleep has been shyt all week. Gonna try and quit cold turkey next week. Hope my gains don't fall off *TOO* much. Might just drop back to caffeine pills on workout days because I am having like 2 cups a day every day which is like 2x the pills. Gotta get to be earlier too. My workouts are short as fukk now so I don't really need the endurance or whatever that caffeine provides. Like today I'm doing legs and I don't do coffee on Saturdays, and my workouts go fine, even though my leg workout is over an hour long.

Went to do legs. Failed on a squat for the first time in my life. I wasn't focused, relying too much on bounce. 2nd rep of 2nd set of 305x4. Lower back feels a little weird, called it a day. I think I'm gonna go back to sumos, and alternate every other week. My lower back was def not feeling 100%, and I didn't do anything heavy with it this week.

Did 5x4 bench yesterday and upper back today. Hit 5x4x235, but it didn't come 100% easy. I did ditch caffeine this week so that might have impacted performance a bit. Upper back today was OK. Still getting used to the new gym so a few sets were just figuring out what to do, but I did hit 3x5x140 on DB rows. Lower back is still a little tweaked so I'm gonna take a week off from legs and I'm not gonna do any heavy upper back work this weekend. Next weekend I will do legs but in a hyper rep range.

Went for a little ride on the bike today. Pace is faster but endurance is not quite there yet. Might do better in the evenings TBH. I'm not trying to get super fast, but I do want to prime myself for next year when I turn it up for summer/towards the end of the cut.

Doing the math and being realistic, this cut is gonna be brutal. Prob gonna be about 9 months long to really get all the way down to where I want to be. I'm figuring the first 3-4 months will be OK and will get me down under 200 or maybe even 190 without losing too much strength. Then I'm gonna take a month off the cut to regroup, and then its on to phase two. I wanna see if I can get down to like 170 or so. I will prob be up a little over 220 by the end of the year :sadcam:

Lower back is still kinda fried. Feels like it did right before I gave up deadlifts for a good while. I think 5x4 on squats might be a bit much. Gonna give my back a good week or two off of lower body stuff and then just do 3x5/3x9 for lower body stuff alternating weekly. My legs are strong enough and anyways next year I'm going to hit my legs mostly with road biking. I enjoy that + that is much easier on my body for legs than heavy squats/deads.

Been weighing in at a steady 215.8 for like a week and a half. Back is still bothering me, particularly when I go to bed and when I first wake up. I've been sleeping well, but I think it mite be time to :camby: this mattress. It's been like 7 or so years so it's probably time just on some health shyt. I have always preferred a firm mattress and this shyt is too soft. Wifey chose it. When I was a kid and I had back pain I would lay on the floor and it would go away.
