Yeah, it seems like if Mercedes did work in AEW, it wouldn’t be full time, just some one offs here and there.
Not mad at it though, don’t know what more she can do in WWE, she’s still young, why not try something new? She can always come back.

If true then I think this is a wrap for her WWE career. They could've easily given her whatever she was asking for and they didn't budge, at some point you have to look at this from a business perspective. If you were an employer would you ever fully trust someone who walked out on you twice? I think HHH & Stephanie decided that it was just time to move on. Now she can go have her dream matches and the WWE can stop stalling with the women's tag scene.
I highly doubt they didn't want her anymore or she can't go back, she just can't go back on her terms. Which is understandable with how she left in the first place and now that she's apparently asking to own or share ownership of her WWE name. Disrespected the company, dropped the titles on desk, hurt the women's roster convincing your friend to leave with you, now you want negotiations. I don't blame them.
Yeah, you can wrestle in Japan & Jacksonville all you want, have fun, take your internet fans with you. She won't get the check in Japan and she won't get the outside spotlight wrestling in AEW so there's going to be issues at these stops too.
