I wanna tap back in with my Puro and Indy brehs

I haven’t been heavy into that scene since the days Morishima was running through NOAH

Where do I even start my nikkas? Is there a site with everything compiled? Do I need an app? What’s good my nerdy neckbeard brethren
That's 14 years of content breh, you gotta be more specific as to what you are looking for or at least what you want to watch style wise.

I’m open to it all, but I don’t really want that overly choreographed Dragon Gate / PWG style that dominates the scene today. Looking for more strong style hard hitting stuff

And don’t get me wrong, I’ve seen stuff over the years (all the Okada vs Omega stuff for instance) but I haven’t paid much close attention to that scene in a very long time

It’s hard to keep up to date with and I have too much stuff I’m involved in to even attempt to. But right now, I’m game

I noticed she didn't thank Stephanie. It was never revealed who made those racist comments when Sasha and Naomi walked out :jbhmm:

She was signed to a developmental contract at age 19 out of the Boston indies. Built her way up to becoming arguably the biggest women's star in WWE. Now she's 30-year old and life brings new challenges. She's always been a fan of Japanese wrestling. A few years ago she came to Japan to train and fell in love with it.

No doubt if the money was right she'd stay in WWE but hey.. NJPW is throwing her a bag for a limited schedule. She still gets to do whatever else she wants.

i don't believe it's goodbye to WWE forever.

The Mone Banks name is terrible. Sounds like a parody.

If her and TK strike a deal I really hope they re-evaluate bringing her in as Paige’s partner. She should come in as a stand alone entity and too big to be brought in on some mystery partner bullshyt in a meaningless tag match.

Then again who are we to question “booker of the year” 🥴

For links of all this stuff I recommend using the search function in the Puro thread. If you can't find it hit me up and I'll see what I can do. There's lot of stuff were links might be dead but there's always new alternatives.

For dates and specific matches, I recommend going to cagematch and just search "career" of any of the wrestlers you might be interested in and you'll get a clearer picture of all the stuff I'm about to list. A lot of matches have ratings attached to them but don't pay them much attention.

-All Japan: Akiyama's return in 2011 and both Big Japan's invasions in 2010-11 and 2018-2019 (lead by Daisuke Sekimoto and Yuji Okabayashi). You'll get good TC defenses, dope tag matches and a couple of stand out Champion's Carnival performances. In the last decade there's two big prospects out of All Japan if you wanna check them out: Kento Miyahara (their new Ace, you might not like his style that much, but he tends to work really great against more grounded hosses like Shuji Ishikawa, Suwama and Daisuke Sekimoto). and Naoya Nomura.

-NOAH: I practically gave up on them in the early 2010's but I still check the bigger matches. If you want people to lose regard of their opponent's well being there's a lot of cool shyt involving Sugiura, Go Shiozaki and Katsuhiko Nakajima. They've been fighting each other for more than a decade now (even though Shiozaki left for All Japan for a while) so there's tons of matches to check out. In the last decade they also have two big prospects who've taken prominent roles: Kaito Kiyomiya and Kenoh. Now, I'm not a fan of either one but there's lots of people who are into them, if you wanna check their work out (they've faced each other a bunch of times too).

-DDT: There's one interesting run that blended the more spot friendly style with more interesting dynamics. I always recommend Sekimoto's run as KO-D champion (it also has Kota Ibushi's second real heavyweight encounter, and he goes full demonic).

-Big Japan: I remember you saying you liked fun 6 man tags were people beat the shyt out of each other like the one from SD with the Brutes and Imperium. Well, Big Japan has that shyt in spades, alongside a whole bunch of interesting hoss matches (some go full retard with the stiffness, others go very "less is more, every move matters"). If you just search "BJW" in the puro thread you'll find a shyt ton of matches and reviews of different matches and runs.

-New Japan: Tanahashi's 2011-2012 is really special, even more so in hindsight as New Japan's style would go even further into the reversal/nearfall/too long stuff that Okada made famous. His Minoru Suzuki match and the Okada feud are worth revisiting, imo. AJ's run is also worth checking out. And of course, Shibata vs Okada, if you haven't seen it, is something you gotta see and have an opinion on it. To me that was always the real "match of decade" of NJPW, not the Kenny/Okada match.
