You do understand how football works, right?

D1 kickers are very, very good at what they do. You're not going to be able to kick the ball off like a D1 kicker when you've been practicing for 3 days. So rather than run the risk of her kicking a subpar normal kick with no hang time that could set up a big return, they planned for the lowest-risk option - a squib that won't get returned and could be downed at the 35.

Any other replacement kicker they would have recommended the same shyt. Hell, sometimes at the end of close games they even squib kick the ball to minimize the chance of a game-winning return.
