God is pretty much a Santa Claus for adults. Be good so you can be rewarded, he's never seen but he's there! He's there because people said so

Both I think should be seen as the face of good morals/ethics and nothing more.

If It ain't a God how do you explain humans? just far enough away to have a livable eco system. not close enough for humans to not exist, while every other planet is devoid of life.
