Long story short...
I copped two GOATs one for me and one for my wife and received a promotional discount on mine (bought it outright for $350)..
I been had issues trying to exchange the phone bought out since the first recall due to that promotional discount...
The second time around my wife called up ATT and arranged for an Edge to be sent home and was told to bring the Note to any store...When I brought the Note to the store to return it dude tells me he can't process a return because the order wasn't placed as an exchange...When they do exchanges they charge your for the new phone and then remove that charge once you turn over the old phone...They apparently wrote off the Note and just sent an Edge to replace it free of charge...I guess whoever my wife spoke to figured because my wife was so adamant about returning the phone she'd just leave it at the store so they wrote it off to make the process easier...I called up yesterday to confirm again and they told me the same story, there are no pending charges or exchanges, do with the phones as you please...
