since we're on the subject of flipping samples,



I always wanted to chop this.

These are the two formats. so far I had 1 vote for format 2

1. I was going to call it Tour de Sample where every month, I'll give an artist, or a theme and you guys will do the digging around that them and flip the sample. It would use a point system for the top 3-5.

2. We could do a Rhythm Roulette type challenge where we have 3 songs and you flip them anyway you like into 1 track. Winners get a invite to a tournament to a sample battle later on and get to choose 1 of the songs for next month.

I think it should be version 2. This shows TRUE talent of us coli heads. The other sample battles, a lot of people used older tracks that they had stashed and what not, and to me, that takes away the point of a SAMPLE BASED COMPETITION. Id even be ok with having to upload a youtube video of you making parts of the beats ect.

I realize this will change in opinions, as I think I'm one of the few on here who still dig in the crates. But, thats my opinion @Tom Foolery

I honnestly prefer number one wich give me more freedom to pruduce but i agree the Rhythm Roulette challenge really show who know how to flip the best but the thing is some beats gon get similar cause everyone gon chop the same obvious best part of the sample and i feel it wouldnt be as creative as if we can dig ourself the sample we like . If everyone want to role with the Rhythm Roulette challenge im down though

sample battles are different imo....

I think a lot of people like to see how the same samples are used differently. I try to help out on the other battles but original composition and sampling are my thing, whereas trap, edm and shyt aint.
