I don't think music is a good reason to leave. People can make music on a laptop & mic now while they are traveling. But I also understand that she is probably looking at her age and thinking it's either now or never for music. Whereas she can go back to announcing

I didn't know so many people hated Lillian. She's nostalgia for me. I understand wanting someone new, but I'm pretty sure it's easier to get someone that's already acquainted with the business and is ready to do it now. Maybe in the future, they'll explore other options, but a big part of ring announcing is the voice. Samantha definitely brought a lot of character to the role, but you don't want to just have someone unproven go in and do it all of a sudden. Lillian is GOAT status to a certain generation, so it softens the blow.

Samantha is definitely better. She took what can be a really standard role and made it special in a way that very few people have. I was literally just thinking about this, but she reminded me of Jim Johnston. They both have musical backgrounds, and they both tailored their work for each wrestler in a way that was unique to them. The way she says Chelsea Green's name added to her character, this sassy, snobby, valley girl way. The way she announced Roman Reigns when he was champion added to his character, because she said his name like he was a monster that ruled the entire company. The way she announced him after he beat Cody at WrestleMania 39 was .

I don't see Lillian sticking around long-term. They're going to get somebody else at some point, but they just need someone familiar and reliable for now. It's like when they had to find new voice actors for Rick and Morty. It's not something they can take lightly after what Samantha did with the role.

She eventually got better as time went on, but even her at her best is nowhere near Samantha. Samantha solidified herself as an ATG. Part of the Holy Trinity of WWE ring announcers.
