Like I said, it's always the "I'm mad on behalf of the troops" cacs.

Symbols mean different things to different people. This is a nation born on many things, one of those being war and rebellion. The anthem itself is telling the story of a battery being shelled by British warships. When you see friends coming home in pineboxes draped in flags, I can understand why people are passionate about it.

But ironically, those same soldiers/Marines/sailors/airmen who fight for the right of freedom, simultaneously fight for Colin's right to sit down if he feels like it.

Can't help but notice these last two years since Ferguson the racial fukkery happens in two successive places: summer and winter.

Last year we had all the Sandra Bland and Charleston/Confederate flag fukkery in the Summer, then the Mizzou and the Chicago protests that November.

however i tend to believe a lot of this stuff happens all year though. we just all get distracted during the months where there is more going on. there have definitely been fall/spring unarmed killings. the verdicts do tend to come down in summer/winter though.

The (edit :not the last verse) 3rd verse of the anthem has lyrics that celebrate the murder of escaped slaves and the Brits that welcomed the escaped slaves. Nice try motherfukker.

Song was literally written by a slave owner who wrote about killing escaped slaves. This is "our" national anthem.

Salute to Kaepernick for not being controlled by greed and is fighting for a cause. The fake outrage is hilarious.
