While I respect Jim Brown, it just sucks to me that he's taking that stance.
I, for the life of me, just fail to understand why some damn flag is above reproach? Why, if I like/love something, am I not allowed to say something critical about it? Why is the flag, law enforcement, and this country as a whole, not allowed to be examined closely and criticized if necessary?
To me, when you speak critically of something, you care about it. Care enough to WANT to see it better, want to see it change. If I honestly didn't care, I'd just put my head down and shut up or not acknowledge it. That's what baffles me.
Folk act like not standing at attention with hand over heart and one tear streaming down your face for the flag is anti-American.
This flag is held in such high esteem, when the very thing it's supposed to represent (liberty, life, our country, etc) is effed up something serious. I appreciate living in this country and the freedoms I have, but there needs to be some wholesale changes so EVERYONE can feel this way as well...folks need to stop infringing on it or take their head out of the sand and stop being so oblivious to obvious misdeeds going on RIGHT HERE...

Nobody gets a pass. Jim is wrong plain and simple. Doesnt take anything away from what he has done in the past. And even if he disagrees with kaps methods thats something you say in private and not in front the white media where they will use your words against another black man and ultimately to downplay the black issues kap is speaking about.
