I'm on a mission for the remainder of 2016 to explain to white folks how they really hate MLK and everything he stood for...

The Disney-Fication of this man has got to end...

Its time for them to find some other Magical Negro as a filter for them practicing white supremacy..
Why can't we have our rep button back :mjcry:

Anybody see this on First Take today?

Stephen A dropped an interesting bomb.

“Until 2009, no NFL player stood for the National Anthem because players actually stayed in the locker room as the Anthem played,” Smith said, relaying what he’d heard from a friend. “The players were moved to the field during the National Anthem because it was seen as a marketing strategy to make the players look more patriotic. The United States Department of Defense paid the NFL $5.4 million between 2011 and and 2014, and the National Guard $6.7 million between 2013 and 2015 to stage on-field patriotic ceremonies as part of military recruitment budget-line items.”

It's almost ALWAYS about money.

Victor Oladipo talks Russell Westbrook, Colin Kaepernick and his singing with Complex Sports

Oladipo thinks Colin Kaepernick's silent protest of the National Anthem will carry over to the NBA

San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has drawn attention in the past month for his decision to sit or kneel during the National Anthem in protest of what he believes is racial oppression and social injustice in America. Several NFL players have supported Kaepernick's action, including former University of Oklahoma wide receiver Kenny Stills.

Oladipo thinks there's "no question" some NBA players will engage in similar acts of protest.

"Because at the end of the day it’s a sport, and people are gonna be looking at some guys in the NBA to see what they’re gonna do as well," Oladipo said. "At the end of the day you just control what you can control, so your opinion is your opinion, that’s the beauty of the United States, so, do whatever you feel is best that will help you do whatever you believe. [...] I think definitely, we’ll see a few guys in the NBA doing the same thing."

I'm proud :salute:, impressed:leon:, and mind-blown :mindblown: all at the same time by this.

If you'd told me in 2013 that a high-profile NFL player would take a lot of heat for protesting during the national anthem, and ask me to guess who it was, I guarantee Kaep would not have been one of the first 10 or even 25 people I'd name. I have nothing but respect for his stance and how he's articulated it throughout this entire saga.
