Last night he played better than Gabbert has played all preseason (which isn't saying much), and the 3rd string QB shyt the bed totally, so there's absolutely no football reason to cut Kap. The Niners might have the worst receiving corp in the NFL, so even before his protest there was little chance he'd set the league on fire. I don't know if he'll be on the team next year, but I'm pretty confident he's the best QB on this roster.
The brotha been the best QB on the team for years IMO. But we all know this the NFL and the QB position is all politics. The best QB doesn't always get the job or stay on the team. Especially when it comes to black QBs.
Kap has a chance to stay on the team. But even if he does I am not so certain the 49ers don't do him dirty and not play him (unless injuries pop up) as a starter.
Dude is owed like 25 mill in jury clause if he gets hurt. The NFL has a history of fukking dudes to keep them off of the field if they have a injury clause. That is the reason Washington benched mcnabb late in the year when him and Shanny fell out. McNabb had a 20 plus million injury clause and they weren't gonna bring him back the next year. So in that case the best thing was to bench him and place him at 3rd string so he wouldnt play unless the 2nd QB was injuried.
If kap makes it this year the 49ers won't keep him next year. His salary is like 20 plus guaranteed.
But I felt this way even before kap turned into craig Hodges....
