In no sane world should this person only be in prison for nine years, if you are that callous and have little care for another human being to try to murder the person for simply not wanting to share food, that should warrant a life sentence. Secondly this just shows the inherent nature of guns, it turns the coward into a hero thinking he is a man of steel and invincible, in sane countries people dont get shot in the face by a lethal weapon for not sharing their potatoe chips
