Ok, so the game is $19.97 on Steam. Has there been enough updates and bug fixes to make it worth that price?
As a fan of the first two games, I wouldn’t play this again if it was free. Bug fixes don’t change how mid this game is.
It’s pretty impressive that a series with two tranches of fans managed to alienate them both with a single game.

That's sad. I completed SR4 first, then played the games in reverse order. I realized that all the humor I loved so much from the 4th game, were all references from the first 2 games. Its hilarious who they successively white washed the franchise. Johnny Gat went from a ghetto Asian dude to a White suburban Chad in Agents of Mayhem. Damn! I guess its time for me to let it go and move on. Thanks for the advice.

It's okay for some franchises to just die of natural causes.
A lot of the 360 era franchises are still being forced out even though they're well past their peak and interest has waned. But these publishers are still running them into the ground..
There never needs to be another Saints Row or Gears game....just let them shyts bow out with some dignity.

You may like it if you played them like that and enjoyed 4 but it feels like a huge regression in a lot of aspects. Especially with the story shyt being tied to doing side missions like 3.
I put the hours in and beat it all, besides going for the actual ending because of the grinding but I would either way til it eventually gets given away for free or if you can find it for $10-5.
Probably the worst SR as a whole by far.

Gears 5 was great though
nothing plays like it. I'm just glad it's taking a break. there's definitely life left in the series, especially if they go back to being kinda horror focused/leaning like 1 and the hivebusters dlc

Granted Infinite turned out to be MOTY (Mid Of The Year) but if they actually put out an interesting multiplayer with new ideas and concepts (the campaign was nice) they would still be looked at as thriving to this day.
If the next Gears drops and it's just more of the same then yeah they're dunzo but for now the jury is still out.

And tbh, infinites multiplayer is amazing right now. It's in a really great spot but it's definitely a shame it didn't launch in its current state.
But yeah, I think gears gets a lot of hate from people that probably haven't even played the last few games. 5 is a pretty big step from 4.
