Volition has announced a new Saints Row standalone expansion, titled Saints Row: Gat Out of Hell, during its panel today at PAX Prime 2014. A trailer shows Kinsey, Johnny Gat and other Saints delving - and this is not a metaphor - into Hell to rescue the Saints Row boss who was promoted to President of the United States during Saints Row 4.

Hell is said to be roughly 50 percent the size of Steelport, and players will be able to fly around the city using demonic wings. Volition is also including weapons themed after Biblical curses and stories, including a gun that fires a plague of locusts, a gun that fires a plague of frogs, and a chair with machine guns and rockets strapped to it, representing sloth - one of the seven deadly sins.

The expansion will feature 2-player co-op where one partner plays as Kinsey, while the other takes control of Johnny Gat. The expansion will be released January 27, for $19.95.

*sigh* I get that its cheaper and faster to do it this way for the current gen systems but they're better off simply leaving well alone.

I know Saints Row is doing everything possible to get away from the GTA clone arguments but its time to go back to that SR2 formula well balanced gang warfare and fukkery

i played it actually bought IV but once the story is over, there isnt replay value

I thought 1 and 2 were too clone like. I really like that they went crazy with 3 and 4. I guess I'm in the minority here though

Because fukk anything after Saints Row 2. Saints Row 3 and 4 were disgraces to the series. 3 was extremely boring with an unbalanced cast, tutorials as full missions, many side activities removed, customization downgraded, a horrible city, no reason to use planes or boats and a multitude of other problems. 4 wasn't even a Saints Row game. It got old after a while and had the same problems as 3. They fukked up when they ditched the formula 2 set up. 2 was amazing. 2 had soul. 2 was the proper way to do a sequel. They lost their damn minds.
