i knew the motive behind the suspensions in no way related to saints conduct...the story breaks about how the new orleans saints had a 'bounty program'..then a lot of reactionaries beg for bans..huge fines..and suspensions,,,goodell gave them all they were asking for but now is offering to cut those suspensions...people actually believe goodell is equanimous and aint just making shyt up as he goes...

I think the anonimity of the NFL former presidents made the league what it is. If you had a problem with the league, you had a problem with its emblem. Tags or Rozelle were not the first people in mind. The NFL kept the machine running without a face. Now Goodell has put a face on the league, and he's now going to have to bear the new internet age punishment that comes with it. I may hate this fukker, but that's why I respect how **** cheney ran the ship. He did it behind the scenes. That's how your run an organization.

At some point, the attention he's brought on himself may sway in a different direction when shown that he made a bad decision or allowed certain things to take place during his tenure. He'll be the face to every up and down in the league rather than the emblem taking the brunt of it. And I fear that Goodell is going to turn into another high profile commish who prostrates himself for sports talk radio and the papers.
