My pick would be Denaun Porter, Oddissee wouldn't be bad either tho
I like Mr. Porter, but there's something... "cheap" about his beats. Oddisee has truly lush production, and I can't think of the last time I heard Tigallo on some really lush production. Strings, bass, natural drums.
Imagine Phonte on this, either singing or rapping.
The writing was on the wall with their last album. They seemed to be moving in a more electronic direction, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. But this track is, well, not good.
I actually think the hook is cool, and maybe if he didn't do that knock-off British accent, the song would be passable.
Nah Khrysis on the boards with the heat
I like Khrysis, but he's a little limited.
Eric G >
To me, I wouldn't knock someone saying the opposite though.
Khrysis is like a 9th Wonder student who is trying to recapture/reproduce 90's sounding stuff. Eric G is like a 9th Wonder student who's trying to make futuristic 90's stuff, if that makes sense.
Eric G is really the bridge between 9th and the modern music era.
