I think Michael Smith is in the unfortunate situation of having to wait until his contract ends. ESPN is paying him millions, but, he's off air and out of sight. Trust, once he is free, him and Jemele Hill will get a mega deal to do their Podcast, or a new show again together. Even if he doesn't link up with Jemele again, he will have multiple Networks lined up to hire him. I could see him landing at FS1.

Mike's dad lives next door to my cousin's day. One day earlier in the year his dad kept insisting my cuz come over and meet his son (my cuz didn't know who the son was) so finally one day he went over and it was Mike lol. Said he was cool.

Yeah. There's really nothing else to the story other than Mike just be chilling with his dad in New Orleans these days lol
Hoping he starts a pod when he gets out of ESPN. His and Hers made Jemelle tolerable.

:mjlol: nikkas still believe their some type of demand for Jemele Hill worth paying her big money to talk sports.

His NBA podcasts with Simmons were great the last few months of last season
I always looked forward to them
Russillo already worked some deal with ESPN to be able to do podcasts on both the Ringer and ESPN the last year or so
I guess Simmons finally convinced him to come over full-time

I don’t think they’re paying nikkas like that at espn unless you’re putting Stephen A Smith hours in.

Matter fact Katie Nolan connections must be on another level, because she is literally terrible at everything ( radio, tv, etc)

Seems like he's getting paid to stay away at this point. He's probably under contract and ESPN has him shelved, tough situation because he's probably still banking but his name is fading and likely dropping in value for his next gig :francis:

I wonder if he's in the middle of a non-compete or something.

I heard him on Bomani's podcast once and he seemed content with chilling, traveling, and raising his kids.

He's a bit arrogant, but one of my favorite talking heads. I'll never forgive him for giving the show to Cain, but he wanted to write scripts. He's not Boston-centric like some people have said, if anything, he curbs Simmons shyt and jokes about it. Dude was constrained once SVP and Russillo ended.

I like the Odd Couple with Broussard and Parker; I wonder if Fox would be willing to throw another "ethnic show" on the airwaves with Mike and Jemele.

Word..

Nobody wanna hear from Jemelle we good
I’d like to hear them back together, and I’m not alone in that :ld:

They got SC because of how well His and Hers did. Clearly they have - yes they, meaning Jemele too - have fans regardless of the coli’s ongoing campaign to vilify her.

Funny how she’s the scapegoat to a lot of y’all when before she got on, nikkas here also hated Mike Smith calling him “soft” and a “c00n” over that NNL shyt
