You need to be more specific as to which numbers you’re talking about. For instance, everyone I mentioned is way ahead of him in passing yards per game. But I agree he’s better than all of them except Big Ben.

Your last 2 sentences don’t make any sense. If he’s not in the Brady/Manning/Rodgers/Drees then what tier of contemporaries would you put him in?

I named basically the next best group of guys in his era. Is he is his own tier by himself?

I personally would definitely rank him ahead of Ryan, Stafford, and Rivers, but behind Big Rapist.
Of course he not going to be in the highest in passing yards per game because he was not in a volume passing offense. That does not speak to his ability or how good of a qb he is or what he has done over his career.

Became the fastest QB to 100 wins last year
#4 all time passer rating 101.8
#3 td to int ratio

That's to start. Let's kill the ring talk cuz he got the same amount as Brees and arod

You didn’t answer the question. If you were putting him a tier of QBs of this era, who would it be?

Russell is great, but his stats are inflated due to the post 2010 passing bonanza. Raw.numbers without context in the last 10 years, are always misleading. Kirk Cousins has numbers that will make you blush.
His trash offensive lines cancel it out IMO.

By that definition there aren't many all time greats then

But i will say Russ seems to have escaped criticism for his playoff performances since the superbowl when he has lost I think 3 of his last 4 playoff game being on home field?

Actually it's the opposite. Three of his last four playoff losses were on the road.

@Atlanta in 2016
@dallas in 2018
@Green Bay in 2019
v Los Angeles in 2020 (no fans in the stadium IIRC)

A lot of that is in run first offense though. Even recently they run the hell outta the ball at times

Russ also just broke the record for wins by a qb in his first 10 seasons breaking Peyton record

Payton Manning still holds the record, Russell Wilson just missed breaking it by 2 (winning) games. That being said, Russ more than likely would've eclipsed or tied the mark if he hadn't
been sidelined 3 games due to an injury this season.

How is this even a discussion? He spent almost half his career being babied by LOB and Marshawn. The defense won that superbowl. As soon as they put it on Russ shoulders to get a super bowl win what happened? He hasn't been back since either.

Graduated from a game manager to a top tier modern qb. But all time great? Nah.

This

Close thread. :snooze:

It doesnt. Passing is wayyy easier now!! Its almost comical. Russell has a 101.4 career rating and Dan Marino has a career rating of 86. You dont see the fallacy in that?? Kirk Cousin has seasons far superior to the greats solely because of the era he plays in.

this has him breaking it, but including playoffs. maybe he's short of peyton record without playoffs

That’s an interesting point. There are people claiming he’s the 5th best QB of his own time but somehow top ten ever. That doesn’t make any sense
Yeah I like Russ but a bunch of people went full retard in this thread. He’s at best the 5th or 6th best QB of his era, yet somehow he’s top 15 all time.
