Only thing I don't like about so called "modern wrestling" is people stand around or don't even try to fight back on certain moves. I watched alot of wrestling in the late 80s and 90s but i feel like these guys should watch more WCW thunder and Ntiro luncha videos because i felt like that style was done great.

Some of those are the same people who claim that Floyd Mayweather Jr. is a boring fighter. Roman (in his Tribal Chief character) doesn't do a bunch of flips & dives in his matches, but he ALWAYS tells a compelling story.
Another thing that Roman does very well is making his title challengers look like credible threats (and not just by letting them kick out of a thousand finisher's either). Guys like Cesaro, Sami Zayn, Logan Paul, and Daniel Bryan all looked like killers when they faced Roman. There's a lost art to making even a "weak on paper" look like they belong in the main event while still looking like they're not quite on the champion's level.
Guys like Roman, Lashley, Gunther, FTR, Bryan Danielson, and a few others know how to tell a fantastic old-school in-ring story while still incorporating the theatrics of modern wrestling.
Agree with everything bolded. Roman is a pro wrestler regardless of the same played out moves. Him and Kenny do a good job at elevating lesser people to make them feel like threats :troll:

Underrated thing about Gunther; He's a true monster heel, he never has to play the cowardly heel to make the other guy look good. Dude ain't had a bad match yet in his Intercontinental run.

It's crazy Floyd overcame bad hands to a 50-0 career with hundreds of millions in purses.

To be fair, everybody that Miss Kenny wrestles is a potential threat to his/her/their T-cell count. :ld:

A group of guys bunching up and standing around while they wait to catch some other guy's dive is the WOAT.

I mean at least throw a punch or a kick or look like your going to before it connects. You should be only standing around if you get hit hard and you're trying to pull yourself up but you got to sell that shyt.

RVD was damn near Dean Malenko compared to some of these cats today.

And besides, basic science dictates that anyone with decent hand eye coordination is gonna catch what you throw at them.

This should be shown in Wrestling 101 because damn this was insightful. Not to discredit AEW, but they really need somebody like Al Snow as a trainer because he fully understands the craft, and I feel this is what's missing in the product.
All of pro wrestling in North America needs this.
