You think Ukraine is going to do what Donald Trump has said? Because Zelensky, and the rest of the world keep saying he can’t negotiate for them.
I am legit 50/50 that Europe takes up the war effort and we see this become the runway for Europe taking on the majority of NATO’s duties as America influence rapidly deteriorates.
Ukraine is going to do what they’re told to do because they are a vassal state that has little say so over its future. A country that has to continuously beg for armaments and funding has little power at the negotiation table. They were always a proxy in a much bigger game. If Zelenskyy doesn’t want to play ball then they will force him out via elections or he will end up joining Ngo Dinh Diem at the table.
Europe cannot fund this war on their own because they have not built up their industrial base after three years to match what Russia is doing. They are already tapped out on what they can give without countries jeopardizing their own national security. Denmark was foolish to give all its towed artillery to Ukraine now they are faced with the threat of us trying to take Greenland.
Just because peace negotiations have started doesn’t mean the war ends next week. It took the US and North Vietnam five years and tens of thousands of more deaths before an agreement was made to end the war. Both sides are going slow roll this to gain as much leverage as possible but Ukraine should have took the deal back in 2022.
