Deputy Defense Minister Hanna Maliar reportedly said Wednesday on national Ukrainian television that the planned counteroffensive "involves a vast and complex set of actions and measures carried out by the Armed Forces, which includes preparing people for a range of defensive and offensive actions."

She added that planning is "already underway" and involved various strategies related to the preparation of equipment and reserves, training and tactical formation "chosen in such a way that the enemy cannot react," according to the Kyiv Independent.

I don’t see how that translates into a counter offensive has started if they are still planning it. Wouldn’t be surprised if manpower and equipment meant for their spring offensive was pulled into the lost cause that is Bakhmut.

I just don’t expect Ukraine to achieve much like they did in Kherson and Kharkiv. Their main advantage then was the lack of Russian manpower but they suffered a lot of losses during that push. The Russians have had months to dig in and build multiple lines of defense which satellite images have shown. With Russian aviation becoming more and more active it’s going to be even more difficult for them.

Just like "tankies" is nothing more than a slur you use for anyone who disagrees with you, "horseshoe theory" is spurious bullshyt with no backing whatsoever.
