Like it or not the US can have it's cake and eat it to when it comes to this. So many nations are aligned with the US that Putin is now in a box. Unless he can threaten a nation more than the US can back it up, it's a no go. Putin is in a literal cage.

this is exactly what happened to tsar Nicholas II ...talm bout as far s military taking L after L...some troops didn't have boots. Slowly they started leaving the battlefield..meanwhile the women started protesting then workers joined them..then the military garrisons joined them.
If only...shyt isn't that dire in Russia though right now.
