I was reading.

To overcome the Nazis using combined arms tactics General chuikov kept the Russian front lines as close to the Nazis as possible...thus the luftwaffe couldn't bomb without risk of hitting Nazi troops.

I smell what you're cooking but there are some differences in this recipe. Ukraine has the ability to strike behind the front line and severely disrupt Russia's supply lines and overall logistics. Once Russia went on the offensive after Stalingrad, Russia had a clear line of uninterrupted supplies. Germany had no means to stop that. Ukraine can and is hindering Russia's ability to feed it's war machine. Russia is essentially in Nazi Germany's position after Stalingrad. Now add drones, satellites and night vision to the fukkery. So far as the Southern part of the war goes, Ukraine has a very real possibility of taking out the few passages that feed it and ultimately Crimea. But I digress...
