Ukrainian military expert Dmitri Snegirev:
"We can confidently declare the liberation of the district center of Ivanovka, the destruction of the rear support bases of the Russian occupation forces in Novaya Kakhovka and, accordingly, the advancement of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the direction of Novaya Kakhovka. This is one of the key goals of the armed forces of Ukraine—taking control of Nova Kakhovka.”
Then Dmitry Snegyrev indicated the importance of the deoccupation of Novaya Kakhovka for the general course of hostilities:
"In Novaya Kakhovka, we are interested in the dam and the cessation of water supply to the annexed Crimea. If we solve this issue, we can talk about a qualitative turning point in the military confrontation."
After that, the specialist reported on why the occupiers themselves need this territory:
"I would like to remind you that one of the plans of the Russian aggression of the Russian Federation is the construction of a so-called land corridor from the territory of annexed Crimea to the occupied territories of Luhansk and Donetsk regions and solving the issue of water supply in the annexed Crimea.”
