I think based on everything I've read on the Mercer's and how Bannon and Kellyanne Conway came to be part of the Trump Campaign, its obvious they will side with "their people". As Bannon said, Trump is a "vehicle" for his (aka The Mercer's) vision of a government that doesn't exist on a federal level anymore.
Rebekah Mercer stated she plans to start outside PACs to both support and critique president Trump based on how his policies and actions falls in line with their famiy's ideas. They know that politicians aren't the most powerful people in this country. Its the rich who now make up our oligarchy. They push Trump around and dictate to Trump, not the other way around. Politicians are now the tools and at the whim of the ultra wealthy. Especially since Citizens United.
You start to move away from "Bannonism" you're moving away from "Mercerism" which means that you're not their tool anymore.
