I think history will be very kind to Westbrook. There’s a lot that needs to go in your favor to win a ring no matter how good of a player you are. When people think of Wilt & Big O they don’t talk about their championships, people always refer to their numbers first and foremost. It’ll be the same for Westbrook so salute :salute:

This is bittersweet. I'm happy for him and new he'd be way better for us than Wall. But I hope this recent run does not save Scott Brooks job.
Ppl don’t understand how much dude just survived off talent in those OKC days.

Stat padding takes tremendous skills, which is impressive, but sometimes you've got to question some of these players focus and motivation.
Are you happy that you averaged a triple double for 10 games if your team got washed all 10 of them? Do you try to make your teammates better or your stats better? Do your stats add to your teams potential maximum stats or do they reduce the probability of reaching maximum potential and on.

It's similar to scoring 40+ but averaging 30 % while your team averages 50 % without you.

Funny how people shyt on getting a TRIPLE DOUBLE as if it doesn't require alot more shyt to go right than shooting deep 3s..

Whats also funny is how he's losing that "Sabo" moniker since he's been in DC.

Westbrook teams average 75% win percentage when he gets a triple double :russ::win::umad:

I'm not talking about Westbrook specifically or a black and white picture. I'm also not trying to have a troll discussion, which is why I said SOMETIMES and I said that one should question, not state.

I'm talking every player and different instances, such as how many games were lost due to one wasting energy or missing fast breaks on rebounds, taking unnecessary shots when the AST-threshold is met, people shooting from worse positions than if you didn't feel like you had to give the last pass when everyone knows you are determined to do it and on.

In russ case, they would only lose roughly 3 of the 10 when he hits the triple double mark

But when he tries to go for one and fails is obviously as important.
Is it different to people like MJ or prime Lebron who just played games and sometimes they got triple's. What is the degree of randomness in these numbers? Is the sample large enough to make any meaningful conclusions? Idk, just fun thoughts.

I'd say that this discussion is deeper than espn-like statistics.
