Because they jump the gun and didn't allow for the natural progression for the pair to grow organically on TV. Also me thinks they didn't want Gable outshining JJ personality and work wise on the show, so it was easier for them to break them up before they could find their stride on the main roster. The Alphas should of had a run on both brands as tag champs, then had JJ turn on Gable, in year 2-3 on the main roster would of got him heat.
But as soon as Angle signed up to be a on screen talent while waiting for clearance, the creatives powers felt it was probably the only time they could get away with the in house JJ is Angles son joke. (If we were making the joke and the rest of the IWC, then I'm sure they did as well) Also they hoped that because Angle is beloved by the fans they felt that rub would get him over, but they should of learnt from the Rock and Reigns situation, but didn't.
