I will believe a nikka is walking away from $20 mil + when I see that shyt. At most this is a bluff to either get all his money and avoid the restructure or get out of town. Can't blame him for either and can't blame the team for doing what they gotta do .

I'm pretty sure they still have your rights if you come out of retirement.
May be an unpopular opinion, but I salute any player that retires on their own terms and while they still have their health.
I don't know folks think it's an L if a player were to retire from the NFL by 30 after making a couple million. You're only 30. You're 4 years removed from the anatomical prime of your life. Retire and move somewhere quiet and safe. You can take the next 10 years doing absolutely any and everything you want to do. You could reinvent yourself academically or musically and totally be at peace with life.

I'm pretty sure that his contract is his contract, and retirement doesn't change that. The years on his contract remain until they're fulfilled on-field or terminated by the team. He'd have to be traded or released by the team to play somewhere else.
