The late Rick James on his prison stay: "After my conviction, I was sent to Folsom. I was moved into a private part of the prison, the "Rich House," because the warden knew a lot of people would be trying to get to me, but in the end, pretty much everyone loved me. These thug life motherfukkers would come over and start in talking shyt and I would talk shyt right back to them."

"I ended up having all the shot-callers real close to me and they put a blanket of love around me. The Mexican Mafia, the 415, the Crips and the Bloods, even the Aryan Race. I had heard the Mexicans had a hit out on me, so I called the head Mexican Mafia shot caller to my cell and he said, "I've been in prison 25 years and your music helped me get through this shyt, I ain't gonna let anyone touch you man. I'd kill one of our people if they fukked with you."

"Many of the guards hated me, but I just told them, "fukk with me and I'll have your ass. I'm too fukking rich and I have a cousin in Congress, so go ahead and fukk with me." They had bets going; who was going to be the first to write me up, send me to detention, shoot me accidentally."

"But soon, even the CO's were growing fond of me. "One of the females smuggled me in a tape recorder that recorded, so I could write and record. Another female officer would smuggle my tapes back out. When I wanted it, I could get steak, escargot, champagne. The female prison guards loved me, the CO motherfukkers even loved me and the rednecks loved me. A few times, I even sent fruit baskets to their old ladies in the street after my people found out their addresses.
Damn Rick was that nikka

Tyson and Jordan

I don't believe that guy claiming he told a drinking Mike Tyson that he thought holyfield would beat him. Only way I believe that is if dude looks like this today from the permanent damage that first would have caused.

In the Silver Lining
In 1992, singer Billy Preston who was already facing drug and molestation charges involving a 16-year-old boy was also charged with sexually attacking a man he hired.

The newer charges involved a 38-year-old man Preston picked up to do work at his home. The charges included: One count each of sexual battery, assault with a deadly weapon-a knife and false imprisonment.

Deputy DA Loni Petersen said Preston bought the man to his home, tried to engage in sex and when the man refused, Preston told him he would drive him to a neighbor's home. She said he later stopped the car, locked the doors and assaulted the man.

Singer Natalie Cole says her mother's snobbery isolated her from other Blacks during childhood.

Cole recalled growing up in Los Angeles' exclusive Hancock Park section, where the Coles were the only Black residents. "When I got friendly with the (Black) people who worked for us, my mother was appalled. "She wanted us to interact with a different society-outside the house."

The singer also reveals that her mother's family felt that her late father, famed singer Nat King Cole, "was too Black for them."

"For a dark-skinned man such as my father to acquire a light-skinned woman such as my mother was a real important prize," Cole explains.

"Your status moved up. That doesn't mean that her family was all that happy about her marrying my father. He was too Black for them. Her mother was very socially conscious, and she didn't want my mother to get involved with anyone with too many Black characteristics, because then your children would look funny."

Cole adds, "It wasn't just my mother, it's the way many Black people are raised.

According to Gladys Knight: In 1971, Stevie Wonder demanded an audit and found that instead of getting a 50-50 split, which was standard, he had been getting only 2 percent of his record earnings, Motown was getting 98%.

When Stevie was a child (Little Stevie Wonder) he traveled to Europe with the Motown Revue. He was only paid $2.50 a week in the 1960's.

But when Stevie got big, he got a big pay day. After winning 10 Grammy's in two years, he negotiated the biggest contract in Motown history (worth millions).

Damn Motown was slimey as fuuck...:wow:

molested by his uncles

dad was a cross dressing minister

married berry gordy's sister(Anna) to maintain his spot at Motown

him and Anna used to participate in orgies
usually Marvin would smoke weed and watch Anna have sex with other men :mjlol:

Marvin was paranoid to the fact he gave his dad a gun to protect him from his enemies
the same gun he would use to kill Marvin

after Marvin divorced Anna he married 17 year old Janis Hunter
her mother literally pimped her out to older musicians

she claimed to have slept with Frankie Beverly,Rick James, and Teddy Pendergrass
Marvin used to call Rick James and threaten to kick his ass

Cotdamn........

I'm dead imagining a teenage Carlton getting punked by Rick James for no reason..

Carlton probably sitting in the backseat wearing sunglasses and a cable sweater draped over his shoulders on some country club shyt. Drinking his first beer so he thinks he's real bad..

Rick James walks up coked out of his mind and just snatches that shyt.. I'm visualizing him getting all indignant and putting his hands on his hips talking about, "Excuse me!" And Rick just ignoring him and kicking it with Mike, while Carlton is pestering him- "Hey, Mr. James--I'd like my beverage back, please!"

Bill Cosby made Whitney Houston cry when she auditioned for the role on Sandra on The Cosby Show. She told him that she was an aspiring singer. He asked her, "Who told you you could sing?" She sung for him but it crushed her spirit

Anna Gordy,Marvin Gaye,and Janis Hunter

One day, he picked her up from school and said he needed to make a stop. He was taking her to pick up his son — at Gordy’s house.
He went inside to get the boy, and Hunter, frightened, waited in the car. Anna Gordy came outside to see the pretty young girl her husband was ditching her for.
“Anna was scary,” Hunter writes. “Her eyes burned with anger. Her eyes focused on me.

Gordy “ordered” Hunter to roll down her window. She opened it just an inch.

“I just want to see what someone like you looks like,” Gordy told her, before turning to address Gaye. “Now that I’ve seen it,” she told him, “don’t ever bring it back here again.”

"FLO BALLARD WAS RAPED AT KNIFE POINT BY FORMER NBA PLAYER"
Reginald Harding, (May 4, 1942–September 2, 1972) was a professional basketball player.

A native of Detroit, Michigan, Harding, a 7'0" center, was selected by the Detroit Pistons in the fourth round of the 1962 NBA Draft. He became the first player drafted into the NBA without having played in college.
Before being drafted, Harding was a stand out ahtlete and considered the best looking boy on campus, but he had problems. If girls danced with him at school dances held on the weekends, that following Monday (at school) he would seek them out and stalk each one of them.

For a few seasons he was the team’s starting center, and on a good night Reggie would score maybe 12 points and grab a dozen or so rebounds. But he was grossly overmatched when the opposing center was someone like Bill Russell or Wilt Chamberlain.
Harding's basketball career was cut short at age 26 by a number of personal problems. As a player, he spent time in jail and was rumored to carry a pistol in his gym bag, and caused problems with his teammates with antics such as threatening them and the Pacers' general manager Mike Storen with his gun (the latter occurring on television). Harding also often struggled with drug addictions.
Harding returned to the streets of his youth and fell in with the wrong crowd. The story is legendary of him putting on a ski mask and robbing his neighborhood liquor store at gunpoint.
“What are you doing, Reggie?,” the proprietor asked of the seven-foot-tall robber.
“It ain’t me, man,” Reggie replied.
According to Peter Benjaminson's "The Lost Supreme: The Life of Dreamgirl Florence Ballard," Harding raped Florence Ballard, a member of The Supremes, at knifepoint in 1960.

In September, 1972, at 30 years of age, Harding was on the streets, chatting up some friends. A car drove by, shouted his name, and some words were exchanged. Someone in the car opened fire with a gun. Harding was dead, a bullet through his skull and brain.

This thread is Top 10 for 2017 already....can I make one suggestion. When yall post stories, especially about people associated with the stars/starlets or lesser known celebrities, can yall provide pictures, cause most of us have no clue what they look like and it gives the story more realism.

Not fukkery but Marvin Gaye tried out for the lions :manny:

I'm just gonna post bits and pieces

"Not long after the recording session, Gaye unleashed another bombshell. He, Barney and Farr were already musical collaborators. Now Gaye wanted them to be teammates."

"Don't even try to discourage me. Smokey [Robinson] said I'm insane, but he's hanging in with me because, you know what?" Gaye asked.

"What?" Frankie said.

"I'd rather catch a pass and score a touchdown in Tiger Stadium," Gaye said, "than rack up another gold record."

"Marvin enjoyed the players' camaraderie on and off the field, yearning for similar bonds. Barney and Farr, like Frankie, didn't believe in Gaye's sports fantasy, but they quickly realized he was as serious about trying out for the Lions as he was about having them help record "What's Going On." They sang with Marvin, so why couldn't he run routes with them?"

"
Still, Gaye fully committed himself to an intense workout regimen, running 4-5 miles per day and lifting weights. Occasionally, he'd work out at the University of Michigan. Gaye even transformed portions of his house into a gym. Farr recalled the singer moving his Rolls-Royce and other cars out of the garage to make room.

Gaye bulked up nearly 30 pounds during the training. Unlike in other periods of his life, drugs -- most notably cocaine -- were absent. Gaye also understood this was a long shot. But he wanted his NFL dream to be taken seriously. For that to happen, Gaye had to take the process seriously.

He trained with Farr, Barney and future Hall of Fame receiver Charlie Sanders. In addition to the university and Gaye's garage, they trained at parks and local high schools, anywhere a productive workout could take place. Athletic limitations and all, he wanted this. Badly."

"Gaye didn't waste a second before selling himself in the interview. His confidence beamed even brighter than his suit: He told Schmidt he believed he could not only start but score a touchdown the first time he touched the ball.

Schmidt asked whether he had any footage of when he played in college. Gaye never attended college. What about high school? Marvin never played in high school either. He dropped out at 17 and enlisted in the Air Force." He bugged out:mjlol:

"
Before beginning his tryout, in front of about 20 people on the field and in the bleachers, Marvin said a prayer with Barney and Farr. Whatever happened, he could accept the outcome. Gaye had set a goal and achieved it: He'd get a shot at playing in the NFL alongside two of his closest friends.

He acted like the consummate pro, running routes and lining up wherever asked. For someone who never played competitive football, he was decent. But decent wasn't good enough in Schmidt's mind.

Privately, Schmidt imagined the wood-layers of their day -- Deacon Jones, Chuck Howley or dikk Butkus -- violently greeting one of America's foremost musicians running across the middle. Marvin would've been a moving target. That was too much burden for any coach's conscience.

Gaye didn't receive a training camp invite. His tryout was the end of the fantasy. He would go back to a recording studio and watch Farr and Barney ply their trade on Sundays."
