The problem is they tried to make RAW and SD the same show, and so they split divisions in half and now none have any depth. The wrong brand split.

If they took a chance, they could have two different shows each with their own appeal.

One of the appealing things about having a network was that they'd now be able to support a brand split instead of pushing two 50 dollar ppvs a month.

I don't know about that if you look at both roster pages, RAW has about 20+ more people listed. They also have 205 Live and Main Event content as well. All the SD brand has is Smackdown, which has led to people going missing for weeks.

The cruiserweight division isn't split into two divisions. Of the divisions that were split between RAW and SD there isn't any depth and matchups are repetitive. The Women's divisions, Alexa hasn't defended her title since October. The Tag Titles on RAW have been traded between Rollins and the Bar since August.

The divisions were split, because they wanted to make raw and sd the same show and the only reason we don't have a smackdown cruiserweight division was because of the poor booking of 205Live and because nobody wants to watch 6 hours of wrestling in 48 hours.

ETA: and RAW is a 3 hour show vs SD being a 2 hour show so of course they're going to have more wrestlers. Creatively both shows are still the same however, the only difference being that RAW "has" the Cruiserweights even though they have their own show on Tuesdays after Smackdown. I don't even care if RAW has more wrestlers that's not my gripe, my gripe is how their talent is being utilized across the two shows with no distinction between them.

History repeats itself. They eventually couldn’t sustain the brand split the first go round. I’m not surprised that they couldn’t sustain it this time, in even shorter fashion.
Original brand split took them around 5 years to stop the branded ppv's (Granted they were full priced ppv's every month :yeshrug:) and another 5 to quielty end it, literally barley 2 years into this one and they stop single branded events all ready :mjlol: ....and they never treated this like an actual brand spilt anyhow, fully expect this brand spilt to end by 2020:ehh:

They fell off with smackdown, the writing on that show has been shyt. Taking away talking smack which made it feel fresh and different was a mistake. Giving Jinder that long ass reign out of nowhere probably hurt the show a lot too.

if they wanna really make something of having different brands

spin nxt off or relaunch the wcw/ecw labels

but have that shyte on at 10-12 and put the kids to bed

catering to the snotfaced demographic has killed the creative side of wrasslin

it used to be worth the watch for the out the ring fukkery and personalities alone

Smart

Too little interest in the undercards for both brands

Last month was one of the first ones where I really had no interest in a ppv, whatever the smack down one was

It's their fault for not creating new stars.

Brock barely appears on RAW to promote any matches, when he does wrestle all he does is German suplex 12 times, F5 pin. Meanwhile there are a dozen guys on the cusp of stardom who they continually sabotage with shytty booking.
that's a myth
