It's for the best. The best we could've hoped for was a Far Cry situation with diminishing returns anyway. I'd rather they take existing licenses and adapt it to the open world formula as one offs like Outlaws.

I swear the Watch Dogs series alone made me hate Ubisoft as a company and a crew.

  • Underdelivered on the first game even though it was still GOATed in my eye
  • Went all over the place with Watch Dogs 2 despite being universally praised
  • Delivered a dookie with Watch Dogs Legion
The franchise was such a weird paradox because I enjoyed it, but WTF UBIshyt :why:

Watch Dogs 2 was a classic and they go do that bullshyt London game nobody asked for. Could kept 2 moving forward but a black main character they didn’t want to do

Yeah they even brought in the main protagonist on the first game. They could have did magic with both worlds involving the third game, but WTFFFF WHY WE IN LONDON BRUV :why:

I still think the idea behind Legion was dope and ubisoft doesn’t get enough credit for taking a risk with the concept. Their execution of ideas is still just too rooted in design by committee.

Another developer could have killed with the concept of “becoming anyone, recruit anyone, use their special talents to take down a corrupt government” <—-thats a dope idea

If they had better writers and gameplay mechanics

I actually stuck with Legion longer than I did WD 2. I’ll probably never pick it up again though. WD 2 could be fun at times, but it would start reminding me of how much it wasn’t GTA 4/5 and I’d go play something else.

I played the two hour trial of WD2 and didn’t like the feeling of not having a jump button so I didn’t bother with the full game lol

You just need a central and memorable commander type character. In X-com thats the role you play

I've legit never heard anyone say the commander in X-Com was the character they remembered. I think it's always some random unit they built up. It's like what they wanted to do with Watch Dogs Legion, but didn't remotely pull off.

On a related note, apparently they put out a new X-Com game in 2020, and I swear I literally JUST heard of it. :dead:

Damn, 'Dead and Buried' so even if the body was around they wouldn't resurrect it.

Watch Dogs series was a typical boring crap from Ubisoft. Do they even make good games anymore?

This series was an attempt to cash in from GTA hype while including some elements from their own gaming franchises like Splinter Cell.
